An Emergency First Aid Kit

If you would liker to keep a pet first aid kit at home here are our suggestions. Remember to keep the kit out of the reach of small children.

  1. 100 ML OF 3% HYDROGEN PEROXIDE OR WASHING SODA CRYSTALS
    - to induce vomiting if your dog has swallowed certain poisons.
  2. ACTIVATED CHARCOAL - TABLETS OR POWDER
    - to absorb corrosive poisons your pet has swallowed.
  3. STERILE EYEWASH
    - for flushing the eyes or debris (even skunk spray).
  4. HYDROCORTISONE CREAM
    - for the chemist, for simple insect bites.
  5. ANTIHISTAMINE TABLET
    - from the chemist or us, for allergic reactions.
  6. NON-STINGING ANTISEPTIC SWABS OR SPRAY
    - for cleaning wounds.
  7. STYPTIC PENCIL
    - to stop toenail bleeding.
  8. WATER-SOLUBLE LUBRICATING JELLY (such as KY Jelly)
    - for wounds, injured eyes or lubricating a thermometer.
  9. PLASTIC ELECTRONIC RECTAL THERMOMETER
    - for checking the temperature.
  10. COTTON SWABS OR BALLS
    - to clean wounds.
  11. NON-STICK GAUZE PADS
    - to place over wounds.
  12. STRETCHY BANDAGE
    - for applying gentle pressure-wrap to a wound.
  13. SCISSORS
    - to cut bandaging.
  14. DRINKING WATER
    - 500 ml bottle - for thirst or pouring over burns or wounds
  15. MUZZLE
    - to apply when a dog is injured.
